What products do you suggest for cancer patients?

We are often asked to suggest 1924 Products for people who are going through cancer.  We have walked the cancer road with our own son, so we are well-acquainted with many of the issues that come with standard cancer treatment.  Chemo can obviously make people nauseous as well as their skin sensitive.  1924 products are very gentle and shouldn’t exacerbate any issues.  They won’t be drying or irritating to already sensitive skin.  In fact, many of the products will help to soothe and heal.

For general hygiene and body washing, we suggest starting with the Naked & Sweet soap.  This bar has no scent and no added colorants.  We have Naked (unscented) products in every product we make.  Naked Lip Lotion is also very helpful to those going through chemo treatments as their skin and lips often dry out.
Using the Naked Laundry Detergent is another good swap to consider during active treatment.  Many people develop skin sensitives they never had before chemo.  What we choose to wash our laundry in affects us both day and night in our clothing and our bedding.  This is a VERY important product to consider swapping to a cleaner version during chemo treatment.

Because chemo can make skin dry, sensitive, and easily damaged, incorporating Naked Body Butter into a skincare routine is also helpful.  This can replace lotions that often contain preservatives and fragrances that may be irritating to newly sensitive skin.

The Naked Lotion Stick is helpful for dry and cracked skin such as hands, heels, elbows, etc.  Naked Lux Oil is an excellent choice for a facial moisturizer.

Another great option is the Coffee Products. These are scented with coffee essential oil which is extremely healing to damaged skin.  The coffee products smell like coffee, and to some folks, their sense of smell can change and be heighted during chemo treatments, so be sure to check before purchasing any scented products. Coffee Butter and Coffee Lotion Stick have been excellent for those who are going through radiation treatment.  The extra benefits of the Coffee Essential Oil have been shown to help those radiation treatment areas greatly.

A scent that is usually well-suited for those going through chemo is mint.  We have many soaps with peppermint essential oil.  We also have some Body Butters and Body Oils with peppermint essential oil.  Sage Mint, Mojito, Spa Day, and Lavender Peppermint are some scent blends to look for on our website across the soaps, oils, and butters.

Chemo can also deplete magnesium in our bodies.  Often the thought of swallowing additional pills is nauseating to those going through cancer.  We have both a Magnesium Butter and Magnesium Spray that can be applied topically and will be absorbed through the skin into the blood stream to deliver magnesium transdermally.
